Unlike the first game, the game has about 21 endings total, while the original had 7 endings total. Players control the victims as they make their way through levels, trying to avoid Exeller and his minions Execun, Exebark, Exebi and corrupted undead versions of any victims who die. However, the sequel is also loosely based off of the infamous Sally.exe story. Just like Spirits of Hell, Whisper of Soul is a survival-horror game based off the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and the Sonic.exe creepypasta.
